How To Create A New Custom Professional Email

When setting up their email, we encourage our users to set up their professional email with Google’s G Suite. You can check out this link for Google's pricing.

This article we will give you the steps that you will need to setup your Domain Host which is REI BlackBook.

  1. Start by creating your GSuite account by clicking here
  2. Once you've reached Verify Your Domain And Set Up Email page, you will want to Choose a Different method and select Add a TXT verification record

  3. For G Suite's Verification, here are the step-by-step instructions for your domain host, REI BlackBook.

    • Put a check on the following boxes:
      1. I have successfully logged in.
      2. I have opened the control panel for my domain.

    • In the Create A New TXT Record section, copy the contents of the Value/Answer/Destination field. This is your verification record.

    • Launch a new browser window and login to your REI BlackBook account.

    • Hover on Tools then select Domain Manager 

    • Click on three dots button and select Manage DNS

    • On the DNS Manager page scroll down to the Create New TXT Records section.
      1. Under the SUBDOMAIN field, type in the sign
      2. Under the TEXT field, paste the G Suite Verification TXT
      3. Click on Update DNS button to save your changes.
  4. Return to the G Suite setup wizard in the first browser window or tab and check the I saved the TXT verification record or the I have saved the TXT record box.

  5. Continue following the steps in the Setup Wizard, or if you completed all the steps, click Verify.

  6. For G Suite's MX records, you’ll use REI BlackBook's Add Google App's MX Records button to set up Gmail as your professional email.

    • Return to the REI BlackBook's DNS Manager in the other browser window or tab. Scroll to the center of the page to see the Create New MX Records section.
    • Click the Add Google App's MX Records button and click on Update DNS button to save your changes


  7. Return to the G Suite setup wizard to finish that process.


Congratulations! Your have now completed your G Suite Verification with REI BlackBook.


NOTE: Domain changes can take up to 72 hours to go into effect, but it usually happens much sooner.
