Let's Integrate Outside Lead Sources Into REI BlackBook
You have the ability to integrate third-party lead sources into your REI BlackBook account.
We will show you how to integrate outside lead sources by using a Google Spreadsheet and an REI BlackBook webform with Zapier.
Once you integrate your Google Spreadsheet and webform with Zapier, any new information that is added to your Google Spreadsheet, Zapier will automatically be triggered to add that information into your REI BlackBook account.
In this case, you are setting up a Zap that creates new contact records into your REI BlackBook Account every time you or a third party adds a new row to your Google Spreadsheet.
The trigger is a new row in your Google Spreadsheet.
We are using Zapier in this example, but there are multiple solutions that provide similar services. We always encourage integrating directly with the native application if they support webhooks.
Note: For this support article, you must have an account and subscription to Zapier, as well as an already created webform in your REI BlackBook account and an already created Google Spreadsheet.
In order to complete the steps in the support article, please use Google Chrome as your web browser.
Objectives
In this support article, you will learn step-by-step how to integrate outside lead sources by using a Google Spreadsheet and an REI BlackBook webform with Zapier.
Steps
1. Log in to your Zapier account.
2. On the left-hand side, click on Make a Zap.
3. You will be directed to a new page. Click on Name your zap box located in the upper left-hand corner and type in a name for your zap.
4. Scroll down to Choose App & Event. Under Your Apps, click on Google Sheets.
5. Click on New or Updated Spreadsheet Row. This option is triggered when a new row is added to your spreadsheet.
Then, click on Continue.
6. Click on the box under Google Sheets account and search & select your Google Sheets account.
Or Click on + Add a New Account to add your Google Sheets account.
When you are finished, click on Continue.
7. Then, under Spreadsheet, click on Choose value.
8. Click on the search box and type in the name of your Google Sheet. Select your desired sheet.
9. Under Worksheet, click on Choose Value.
10. Then, click on the circle next to Sheet 1.
When you are finished, click on Continue.
11. Next, click on Test trigger.
12. The content in your Google Spreadsheet should appear. Then, click on Continue.
13. Click on the search box under Choose App & Event and type in Webhook.
Then, click on Webhooks by Zapier.
14. Next, click on Post.
Then, click on Continue.
15. Open a new web browser tab, and log in to your REI BlackBook account.
Then, click on Web Tools located at the top of your dashboard menu. In the drop-down menu, click on Webforms.
16. You will be directed to your webform builder. Click on your webform that you are using.
17. You will be directed to edit your webform. Under (Optional) Get Code, click on Preview Webform.
18. Then, you will be directed to a preview of your webform. At the top of your web browser, highlight and copy the URL.
19. Go back to your Zapier web browser tab. Under Customize Request and URL, click on the box and paste the URL that you copied from your webform.
20. Then, click on Form under Payload Type.
A data box should appear underneath.
21. Go back to your preview webform in your REI BlackBook account.
Right click on either Name, Email or Phone boxes. In this case, we right clicked on Name.
Then, click on inspect.
22. A bottom box will appear with code. Locate the input of your name box and copy the f_#######.
Note: If the form is ever updated the integration will stop working since the field ids will change.
23. Paste the information into the data field in your Zapier account.
24. Click on the box next to Data. In the drop-down menu, click on Name. You should see the content that is in your Google Spreadsheet.
25. To add more fields for the rest of your webform, click on the plus sign located on the right-hand side.
26. Repeat Steps 22-25 to enter the rest of your webform into Zapier.
When you are finished, click on Continue.
27. You will be directed to a new page. If the information is corrected, click on Test & Preview.
Then, this will appear on your screen.
28. Go back to your REI BlackBook account. Click on Contacts located at the top of your dashboard menu.
29. You will be directed to your contact management system. You will be able to see your newly added contacts.
Click on your contact's name to view their contact record.
