How To Create An Optin Popup

Follow the instructions below to create a custom Optin Popup that you can use on landing pages, web pages or blog posts inside REI BlackBook. Optin Popups are a great way to capture the contact information of leads. 

  1. From your account's Dashboard click on Web Tools, and then select Optin Popups from the drop down menu.

  2. On the Optin Popup Builder Page , click on +New Optin Popup located in the upper left hand corner of the page.

  3. Provide a name for the Optin Popup you are creating and click on the Create Optin Popup button after typing in the name.

  4. On the Optin Popup Builder, you are able to choose a template to use.
    • Click Choose a Template to see the list of templates available to use.

    • From the drop down list of templates select a template you'd like to use by clicking on the template.

  5. Once you have selected the template you'd like to use the next step is to select the fields to add to your Optin Pop.  You may select from the following fields:
    • Name Field (Default)
    • Email Field (Default)
    • Phone Field
    • Property Address Field

    • Check each box next the field that you would like to add to your Optin Popup. Then click the Save button once you have selected all the fields you want. Screenshot_2019-05-29_14.46.19.png
  6. After selecting the fields you'd like to add to your Optin Popup you will need to customize the Thank You page. To customize the Thank You page click on the Thank You button.

  7. On the Customize Thank You Page you can decide where your leads are directed to after filling out the information on the Optin Popup. You will need to click on the drop down menu under Select where you want your user to be directed following form submission. Once you have made your selection and/or edits click on the Save Thank You button. You can select from the following options of where you want leads to be directed. 
    • Default Popup: This is the default Thank You page you see when in the box after clicking on the Thank You button. You can edit the default Thank You page in the box using basic word functions. 
    • Web page: You will need to select from the list of your web pages you'd like to send the lead to after filling out the Optin Popup. There will be a drop down menu with the list of your web pages you can select from. 
    • Landing Page: You will need to select from the list of your landing pages you'd like to send the lead to after filling out the Optin Popup. There will be a drop down menu with the list of your landing pages you can select from. 
    • Property Finder Account Creation Page: Sending a user to this page will allow them to create an account for your Property Finder portal, where they can begin to submit deals directly to you.
    • External URL: This would send a lead to a web page outside anything you've built inside REI BlackBook. You will need to provide the URL for the external page you'd like to send the lead to.
      NOTE: If you want the information a lead filled out on the Optin Popup box to be  passed on to the next page you direct them to because you are requesting more    information, and some of the information is the same information they filled out on the Optin Popup leave the box "Pass name and email data to next page" check marked. This information will automatically be filled out on the next page you direct them to.

  8. After customizing the Thank You page you will need to assign a workflow to this Optin Popup, so follow up is in place for each lead you receive. To assign a workflow click on the Run Workflow button. Screenshot_2019-05-29_15.09.31.png
  9. On the Workflow page you will select which workflow you want to assign to this Optin Popup. Note: You will need to create the workflow you'd like to use first before you can assign it to the Optin Popup. You will also need to decide what happens with duplicate email addresses. If the email address submitted is already in your CRM then you can either have the contact's information updated automatically, or you can have a note generated in the contact details with the updated information. If you decide to have a note added to the contact details then the information for the contact will not be automatically updated. Once you have selected a workflow and what will happen with duplicate email addresses click the Save button.

  10. Typically the Optin Popups are used on Websites or Landing Pages built inside REI BlackBook, but you can add the Optin Popup to external web page. To add this Optin Popup to an external you will click on the Get Code button. 
    • If you want to add this Optin Popup to an external web page you will select click here on the next box that pops up.

  11. On the Publish Your Optin Box in the lower right hand corner you will click on Copy to get the code needed to add the Optin Popup to external web page. Note: you can edit the trigger button that will be on the Optin Popup directly on this page as well. Once you are done editing the Trigger Button click the Save Trigger button. You can edit the following things. 
    • Trigger Text: This is the text that will be on the button. 
    • Trigger Background Color: This is the color the button will be. 
    • Trigger Text Color: This is the color of the text on the button. 
    • Trigger Width: This will determine how wide you want the button to be. 
    • Rounded Corners: Will allow you to change the corners on the button to round instead of square.

  13. Click on the Publish Changes button to save the changes made to the Optin Popup.
