Let's Create & Track A New Campaign
If you are running paid marketing with Facebook or Google, or just doing organic marketing campaigns to drive more traffic to your website, wouldn’t it be great to know exactly which of these brings your website the most traffic?
The good news is that you can do that directly inside of your REI BlackBook account. REI BlackBook URL campaign tracking allows you to manage your online campaigns more effectively.
It lets you understand which activities provide the most value, so you can wisely invest your time and money, allowing even the most limited of budgets to yield a great return on investment.

In this support article, you will learn step-by-step how to create and track a campaign.

Steps
1. Log in to your account. Click on your name located in the upper-right hand corner of your dashboard menu. In the drop-down menu, click on system settings.
2. You will be directed to a new page. On the left-hand side, click on Campaign Tracking located under General.
3. On the right-hand side, click on Add New.
4. A pop-up box will appear. Fill out the campaign tracking link form.
Name This Campaign Tracking Link
Click on the box under Naming this campaign tracking link and type in a name for this campaign.
Destination URL
To select whether your destination URL is a website, landing page or an external URL, click on a circle next one of the options.
External URL
Click on the box under External URL and paste your URL in the space provided.
Campaign
Under campaign, click on the box and type in the market that your are targeting with this campaign.
Then, click on +Create.
Note: It is best not to use spaces when you are using more than one word. Instead you will want to either run those words together or use an underscore ( _ ) between the words.
Source
Under source, click on the box and type in where your market can find this link (i.e. Google, Facebook, Twitter, Flyer, Postcard, YouTube, etc.).
Then, click on +Create.
Medium
Under medium, click on the box and type in your marketing medium that you're going to use for this campaign tracking.
Then, click on +Create
Note: It is best not to use spaces when you are using more than one word. Instead you will want to either run those words together or use an underscore ( _ ) between the words.
Term
keywords that your target audience is going to use to get to your website, (i.e. buying old houses).
Then, click on +Create
Note: If you use a keyword phrase, you will want to place a plus sign (+) between the words of the phrase.
Content
Under content, click on the box and type in the content of the marketing medium.
Then, click on +Create.
This can help you track two different ads running on the same channel (i.e. Facebook), which is especially helpful when you’re doing an A/B test.
Notes
Under note, click on the box and type in a note for your campaign. This note is for internal purposes only and will not be included in the final link.
Link Preview
Under link preview, your link from above will appear here. Click on Copy Link to share it on your desired source platform (i.e. Google, Facebook, YouTube, etc.).
When you are finished, click on Save.
You will be directed to your campaign management system where you will see your newly created campaign that is ready for automatic tracking.
