The short answer is you can do almost anything with both number types. The difference lies in what you plan to use the number for.

Business Lines are normal phone numbers. Someone calls in to speak with a live person to ask about a property or inquire about selling their own. Once they call in you can send them to voicemail, forward the call to your cell phone or live answering service, or send them a text or ringless voicemail.

Information Hotlines can be thought of as a message service where someone calls in to hear a recording. For example, when a someone calls a hotline, they are given a choice of options. Press 1 for info on this house, Press 2 if you saw a Bandit Sign on someone's car and want to enter the driver's extension to get more info and a call, etc.
