Let's Discuss Contact Tabs & Contact Fields
Contact tabs keep your contact records organized. They store information about a contact such as name, email, mailing address, phone number, birthday, source, and more.
The information within a contact tab are called contact fields. A contact's name, email, mailing address, phone number, etc., are known as contact fields.
If you want to include details about a contact that are not in your default Details tab, you can create custom contact fields.
Or, if you have different kinds of information about a contact, it may be beneficial to separate that information into multiple contact tabs. You can create custom contact tabs and custom contact fields.
For example, let's say you have a contact's basic information such as name, email, phone number, and you want to include other information about them that is not relevant to the basic information.
The other information that you want to include, in this example, is past deals, including how many deals have you done with this contact, what were the types of deals, etc.
You can create a separate, custom contact tab called Past Deals and enter the information relevant by creating custom contact fields.
In this article, you will learn how to navigate around your contact tab and contact field management systems.
1. Log in to your REI BlackBook account. Click on your name located in the upper right-hand corner. In the drop-down menu, click on System Settings.
2. Click on Contact Fields under CRM located on the left-hand side.
You will be directed to your Contact Field management system. Here, you can see your list of default contact fields and your custom contact fields.
In your list, you can view a contact field's name, type, icon, conditional actions, how many contact tabs that it is used in and action options.
To search for a specific contact field, click on the search box and type in the contact field's name.
To filter your search, click on the funnel icon.
A pop-up box will appear. Click on the boxes and fill in the information
To load your saved filter searches, click on the binoculars icon. In the drop-down menu, type in the name of your saved filter search.
To add a new contact field, click on Add New. Create custom contact fields in order to add them to custom contact tabs.
To edit a contact field, click on the pencil icon located on the right-hand side of a contact field. To delete a contact field, click on the trashcan icon.
3. Click on Contact Tabs under CRM located on the left-hand side.
You will be directed to your Contact Tab management system. Here, you can see your list of contact tabs including the ones you have created and your default Details tab.
If you want to search for a specific contact tab that you have created, click on the search box, located in the right-hand corner, and type in find the name.
To create a new contact tab, click on Add New in the upper right-hand corner.
